In order to measure all pertinent core structures with the core positioned in the same manner as it was in the ground, the core orientation device was created.
You may align the device with the azimuth of the core using the built-in Suunto A-10 Base Plate compass, which gives you a bearing, and you can align the core with its original incline thanks to the built-in protractor.
